READER QUESTIONS
- Q: I saw your book, decided enough is enough, and bought it so
I could learn Java. I thought Sun's Java Development Kits were always
free, so how come the license for 1.2 is only for 90 days? Don't you think
you should have mentioned that rather predominately in your book? --
B.F.
A: Sun has always been strongly commited to giving the JDK away for
free, and I haven't read anything to indicate a change in that policy. My
guess is that the 90-day license was offered because you're working with a
beta release of the JDK, and the final release won't have that reference
to a time limit.
