Yeah, I sort of blipped over some of the argument. The rest goes something like: You haven't made the other posts yet, but logically, none of them are good enough for you to say "OK, I'll take this one". All of them are XML formats that accept namespaces (with one level of support or another), so I wouldn't be surprised in the end there isn't much advantage to any of them and you'll need to add namespaced elements to any of them. Given that, I'd tend to guess the ones designed for bookmarks themselves are the most likely to be meaningfully processed by other tools.

While reading that prose it sounds like an attempt at an answer, that's meant as just thoughts on the format, which I suspect you already have thought or you wouldn't be posting. I'm probably just reinforcing what you've thought.

And... yes, I'm apparently far more willing to add namespaced elements to things (as long as it degrades gracefully) than most developers, who treat it as some sort of violation of sacrament or something. Maybe I'm on one extreme (though it hasn't bitten me yet), but I think that being borderline fearful of adding namespaced elements is also an extreme.

I also can't help but notice that few developers really get the XML namespacing thing, which I strongly suspect plays into that. I do a lot of work with XMPP, and it sort of looks like it uses namespaces properly, except that when you dig into it, the standards writers don't quite get it right... and it's better than most uses. I used to like listening to Art Bell until the 9/11 disaster. After that he hung up a few times on callers who wanted to talk about Israel and Palestine, and wouldn't heed the suggestion that someone besides Arabs could have been responsible for the World Trade Center disaster. It seemed to me like he was being paid to promote only one viewpoint. I don't say he WAS being paid, only that at the time it seemed that way to me because of the information being withheld by his tirades against these anti-Israli callers, and hanging up on them. Up until that time I thought Coast to Coast AM was about free speech, and allowing callers to express their views. This is what originally turned me off to Art Bell's program. I have reservations about George Noory too but nothing so dramatic as what I felt about Art Bell keeping us from getting another side to the information about what might have caused 9/11.

This is coming from just an average housewife - not from anyone pursuing any political viewpoints. My issue was/is free speech and information control.

They have taxes taken out of their checks too. Do they get a refund? No... so, stop crying over how you suffer directly because someone is desperate to make a living. Everyone of you came from an illegal - German, Swedish, Polish the list is endless and the SWIM was much longer. We can not help where we are born, the color of our skin; but we can remember our history and the bravery of the person who sacrificed for you to be here now. I am glad there are still men and women who make the decision to create a better life for their sons and daughters. We need to support reform not WALLS.

The network executives making these decisions are obviously jaded, greedy, out of touch with the rest of America, pompous jerks who have outlived their usefulness. I would love to tell them that to their faces.

The only new show that I care to watch is the Eleventh Hour. It's not great, but the stories have been interesting in a more academic way than the current CSIs. Plus the CSIs have gone a little too far in their gruesomeness and I don't enjoy slasher movies. I wish they had matured rather than devolved to horror movies. Same thing has happened to Criminal Minds. I don't enjoy them anymore. The situation comedies are so infantile that they aren't funny. The only one that I like is "Big Bang Theory." Not that I am such an intellectual, but I'm not a 14 year junior high school boy, either.

Programming for the networks and most of the cable channels really stinks. If it wasn't for the local news I wouldn't even bother to turn on the TV most days.
