Weblogger Beauty Contest

On his weblog today, Jon Gales fishes through a BloggerCon photo album and declares that "bloggers are ugly," using several people as examples:

Check out some highlights of the BloggerCon photos... Eek.

Alexander Payne agrees, calling Gales' assessment "harsh but true."

Neither Gales nor Payne makes their photos a prominent part of their Web sites. I couldn't find them elsewhere either. This is a shame, because anyone who would make observations about the ugliness of their fellow webloggers must be incredibly good-looking.

It's wrong for these gods to deprive the rest of us from the joy the sight of them would inspire.

To right this, I'm holding a contest. To win, send me an e-mail containing a verifiable photo of Jon Gales and Alexander Payne that's of sufficient quality and detail to judge their comeliness. I'll publish it on this page.

The two contest winners will receive $10 plus $1 for each week from Oct. 5, 2003, until the prizes are claimed:

At the time you read this, the prizes are up to:

Also, so I can claim this contest as a legitimate promotional expense, each winner will receive a copy of my new book, Radio UserLand Kick Start.

Update: This contest is over -- the prizes for Alexander Payne and Jon Gales have been won.

Rules: Under absolutely no circumstances should you send me nude photographs. This contest is open only to legal residents of the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) and Canada (excluding the Province of Quebec) who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Jon Gales, Alexander Payne, their immediate families and individuals living in the same household are ineligible. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited by law. Offer not valid in Vermont. Rogers Cadenhead is the sole arbiter of what constitutes the verification of photos and their "sufficient quality and detail." Offer expires Oct. 5, 2005.
